that one after a mission ( nsfw )
Oct. 18th, 2016 04:14 pm[ The details of the mission had been something too simple, at first. Things had even gone well enough until everything had started to fall apart, and by the time they'd acquired the target, by the time they're left alone in one of the rooms of an underground facility, Steve is just... done. He's mad, and he doesn't think he's ever felt this annoyed about anything, about all of those careless risks they'd taken. Between the two of them, Steve's usually taking the brunt of it, but every so often, Tony is just as reckless as he is in a fight. And it'd been different before they'd started seeing each other, before the complication of sex and living together, but now—
It's really just a matter of who's right and who isn't, which Steve very much believes is what starts the fight.
Since it hadn't been necessary to have the whole team on this, the handful of people who'd come with them are beginning to clean up and clear out, and Steve can hear them on the other side of door as he stares at Tony. They're only about an arm's length apart, surrounded by several computers and the remains of a lab. He can't shake the frown pulling at his mouth the longer he looks at him either, and eventually, he's unsnapping the clasp to his helmet to pull it off in an effort to divert some of the adrenaline still rolling through him. He can feel the sweat in his hair, the slight ache in his jaw, but it's still nothing compared to how upset he is. ]
What the hell, Tony. [ Finally, after several second of silence, and it's the first thing out of his mouth. ] When I asked you to come with me, I didn't think you were gonna be a liability. [ But as angry as he is about this, it's even worse because it had been his fault, and that's just not acceptable. What he does concerning himself is one thing; writing Tony into the equation is something entirely different. ]
